‘Sankalp Din’ Observed To Commemorate Babasaheb’s Birth Anniversary

It has been set as a tradition by The Sainiki Vidyalay to observe the birth anniversary of Babasaheb Deshmukh as ‘Sankalp Din’ (A Day of Resolution), every year.
        This year, on the 16th March, the event was celebrated in the auspices of Hon’ble  Chief Justice (Rtd) of APHC, Prakash Rao and The Trustees of SSM.
        Apart from felicitating the meritorious students and teachers, a Souvenir, “Kshatratej” was released on the occasion.
        The Guest of Honor, Justice Prakash Rao has reiterated the importance of communication skills and English Language. A question hour followed his address, wherein Hon’ble Justice had responded to various questions posed by students and teachers.  All the other speakers fondly remembered their association with Babasaheb Deshmukh, on the occasion.




Sagroli Sunrise Shines Again At The Marathon, Nanded

In an initiative to spread awareness on rational use of water resources, the Water Management Board, Maharashtra has organized a long distance Marathon at Nanded on 20th March.  Among 300 participants who have competed to only win, the one and only Maroti Jadhav, an athlete of SSM’s Sagroli Sunrise Sports Project, stood first and proved his unique style and stature. 
 


    

Shri Sunil K. Deshmukh Elected As Trustee - The Maharashtra Balgram, Pune

The SSM’s Governing Council Member Shri Sunil Deshmukh was unanimously  elected as a Trustee, Maharashtra Balgram, Pune. A meeting, Chaired by Shri Rajnikant Jnansi, President-Maharashtra Balgram and The Secretary Ranjanatai Pouranik has expressed  trust in Shri Deshmukh’s capcity and hailed the contribution of SSM in the manifestation of the ideology of Balgram concept, on the occasion.

‘Learning to Learn’ Orientation Programme For The staff

An orientation programme for the Teachers of SSM was organized in the campus between 9th and 21st March this year.  The participants included teachers, HOD's and Admin staff of the organisation from the English, semi English and Marathi medium of SSM’s Schools.
        A need-based program was chalked out and neatly executed under the guidance of Miss. Genie Quasimi, a Management Intern from SP Jain institute of Management and Research, Mumbai. 
        The English Language experts of the organization conducted a number of activity oriented sessions for the participants in various modules like Basic Grammar Skills, Enhancing classroom teaching, conversational skills, leadership and communication etc.
        The orientation programme has benefited around 45 teachers from all the units.

Rejuvenation of Defunct Irrigation Canal in the Drought Affected Areas

In a special drive to address drought affected issues, SSM has taken up rejuvenation of a defunct irrigation canal at village Katkalmba, Tq. Kandhar.  An Unprecedented drought for the past three seasons has devastated the agricultural sector.  The irrigation canals are filled with silt and mud rendering into non usage.
        While focusing the drought relief measures, SSM has undertaken the de-silting and expansion of water storage capacity of the irrigation canals, using  ‘Doh’ model.  Apart from widening and deepening the Canal flow way, a ‘U’ shaped reservoirs are created in between to hold as much water as possible during monsoon.  Each ‘Doh’ measures about 40 X 20 X 200 feet with a capacity of 4.32 TMC of water.

        The project, expected to be completed before June, will ensure crop production on 250 Hectares of land and raise ground water levels in the vicinity.  Hon’ble District Collector Shri Suresh Kakani and other District Revenue Officers visited the site on 9th of March and appreciated the work in progress.

“MARMBANDH” – a Reunion of Veteran Volunteers

SSM has organized a re union for all the volunteers who served the organization at various levels in the past 5 decades.  In an unprecedented response, many volunteers re-appeared under the legendary ‘Bunyan Tree’ on 6th of March.  A few participants in their late 60’s shared their experiences during their journey at SSM.
        An un-faded enthusiasm and respect for their organization were the priceless characteristics, they have passed over to the next generation volunteers.


        It was an emotional and warm re-union.  The whole campus wore a festive look that day.
        A special edition of Vidyavrutta ‘MARMBANDH’ was released on the occasion.
